Darren Stride eh, when did that happen? Or is he just on trial?

I think he could well be the final piece of the jigsaw for us, not necessarily to play every minute of every game, but just the kind of leader needed when the going gets tough and some experience is needed in midfield/defence to roar us on!

How did he fair last night anyone?

I said that he would be a good acquisition once I knew he'd been released by Burton, but someone on here said he had retired from football altogether and wasn't going to play for anyone else.

Proved to me yet again regardless of people saying players are past it they can fill in a hole and pick off some perfect passes. Obviously has a footballing brain and in an anchor man role would suit the squad perfectly with all our offensive options in front of him reaping the benefits!

He still looks sharp, looked as fit as anyone and still an exellent passer of the ball.

Could do for us what Dave Mckay did for Derby under Clough, while bringing on the younger players round him, sign him now if at all possible.

cracking player who should be able to bring on the younger lads.

This player could be a sort of "Mackay" for us. One never knows though with any player- but he is the type of player that is always required in CN.
But we will see how the management feel on this. They have done pretty well for the team so far in their "reign" so I guess we must trust them to take the correct decision on any player- and they have had a good look at Stride.
I hope to get down to a game this season(even a couple) but depends on the weather and how I feel on the match days. I wish the team good luck for the forthcoming season. And a word for the supporters- I was considering the other day how important they are to the club. Those who go to nearly every match are the core of the club- players and managers come and go, the seasons come and go- but those loyal fans that are there and have been there in the good and bad times are a credit to this club and themselves- I cannot name them all but the group behind the goal are just fantastic - sing whatever the result and a couple of opposing fans have said to me recently- wish we had your supporters every match!
As for the supporters club- perhaps someone could send me a form so i could join- I realised the other day I never did join as far as I can recall- so I wish to correct that!! My email address is on my PVT message.
