I thought we dominated the game yesterday, they came at us a bit more in the 2nd half but we battled when we needed to and it keeps us in the play off spots. Why they didn't start with the sub who scored I don't know cos they looked better with him on.

I agree postie, played a good game. Looked really good when we played it on the floor. Was a bit disopointed that i saw one dick of a fan get at Josh when he mis-plated a pass and it went out. Thought he had a good game. Just hes still better as a winger and not a defender cause he is a good crosser of a ball. Maybe playing him in that position with 3 central defenders and 2 wing back would suit? Not a fan of time wasting though, always think the best defense of a lead is scoring more goals.
Well done Alfreton, Keep it up and on the floor.

I agree. They couldn't live with us when we passed it about. You can see why they're down the bottom of the league, and judging by yesterday I wouldn't be surprised to see them at the bottom of the fair play league as well!!

One thing that does irk me is the lack of width sometimes. Very often we don't have anybody on the back post or out wide

I thought it was commanding performance. We played a terrific passing game which was a pleasure to watch and Harrogate simply couldn't live with us. Harrogate weren't a good side but we would have beaten anyone with a display like that. The new lads look to be settling in and we once again looked like a team.

I know you can't play like that every week and I know some of the surfaces aren't the best but we have proved we are capable of out passing any team in the division. Get the ball on the floor and at least try and produce the same for the rest of the season and no one will get near us.

Truly superb football lads. Well done to everyone.[/code]

With regard to Josh ,I thought he had his best game I have seen him play, we all know he has the talent ,but why not let him show it out wide, someof his crosses yesterday from a wide position werea joy to watch, given space and played in the right position he is a very good player.

Ditto the above comments

Really enjoyed the game. Some great football and the margin could have been a lot wider.

Thought Anton Brown had a great first half, and the third goal from Jake Moult was top quality football.

Harrogate had little to offer except late tackles, and it shows how far the club have come over the last few years when you look back at where Harrogate and Alfreton used to be in the league only a few seasons back

Fantastic, sometimes brilliant football. Some of the forward play was exceptional and the lads were enjoying their football, smiles and hand slaps all round even Ernie was smiling.
A bit dissapointed in the programme notes from the Chairman and Manager regarding comments made on the forum, not exactly sure which posts they were having a go at but will offer the following possible explanation. This squad we have is the best, bar none, I have seen at Alfreton in the last 30 odd years I have been watching them. With that comes the frustration of players not playing to their ability week in week out which results in negative posts. To say the people who post negative posts know nothing about football is wrong, they are merely venting their frustration because they know this squad are fantastic when playing well.
I totally agree that having personal attacks on players does not help anyone, the only name I can recall seeing is Josh. Having switched position to full back he is probably playing the best football of the last 2 seasons, is he the best defensive full back we have?, probably not, but is he the best attacking full back we have I would probably say yes. So again we come back to the Manager picking the team to do the job, Nicky knows what he is doing, 2 seasons challenging for the play offs when previously fighting relegation says it all.
Rant over except could I have more of the football witnessed on Saturday please, outstanding.

like I said, no one ever got anywhere by getting praise for doing things poorly.

I and a lot of others (rightly or wrongly) thought we didn't play as well as we can against Gloucester and I said what I thought of the performance.

As much as I love ATFC and as much I respect Wayne and the board, and as much as I acknowledge their efforts and that of the manager and team, I will never be a yes man and I will say it (rightly or wrongly) as I see it.

Will I get mention in next weeks program for praising the team on an excellent display against Harrogate?

Well you never will be a "yes man" and long may that be. I got some flak a few years ago but to be honest it did not trouble me- nor did the comments from various sections- I have been insulted by the best in the world- The British Army Drill sergent!! So little troubles me...........

I have, unfortuantly been sitting much on the side lines theses last few seasons due to my illness(s). The team is well sutuated in the league to be in the play-offs at least-
As for a comment the best team for 30 years- probably- except the team that came out of the NECL won everything that season(The Chris Wilder team) and it is always difficult to compare teams of different eras as it is footballers(Except of course John Harrison is incompariable).
Anyway- I will be every interested in the progress of the the team for the rest of the season and honestly do hope I can get down to one game at least this season. Bit too cold for me at the moment!!
Glad to see wozza is still the same and the core supporters who are at every match home and away are still shouting for the club. And I think sometimes the chairman and others must remember that these great fans are the backbone of this wonderful club and be a bit tolerant of their remarks- they(the fans) only want to see their club up there playing the best football they can. We musty remember also that the club is not anyones in a way- The CLUB is all that matters- the club- this club and should not get too carried away when any fan or official has there say.
The Club is all that matters to the fans and that has to be realised by all.
And the word fans covers the officials too. I know they(the officials) are passionate about this club .
But we all have our say- we all want the club to do well.
Well here is wishing you luck for the rest of the season. I am there in spirit so to speak!!

Have fun
